Class.

It was really weird to read, because even though I am a slasher, it's just one of those things you don't expect to find popping up in "real life", not to mention a 300 level sociology class.

I went to Bath & Body Works today for the first time in a few years, and I forgot how much I used to love them. So much smelly goodness. :) I guess I had perfect timing too, because I was looking for their aromatherapy headache relief, and the lady that worked there told me it had been discontinued and just recently brought back. I forgot how much I love their headache relief because it works so, so much better than any other blend I've tried. It even works better for me on sinus headaches than tylenol sometimes, which I've been getting a lot recently.

I was also sniffing the rest of their testers for their rollon aromatherapy (there were like five blends) and I realized that their calming sleep blend smells almost exactly the same as the perfume I've been wearing lately. And since this stuff really works, that could account for why I've been so darn tired this week. Well, that or the Ulysses I've had to read for class... but that's exhausting in a this-dude-is-crazy-wtf-is-going-on-in-this-novel sort of way, and the tiredness from that mostly goes away shortly after I stop reading it and my brain stops trying to process that crazy that is James Joyce.

Have I mentioned that I hate Joyce? And wouldn't you know it, I've read just about every single one of his works now for one class or another. Thankfully all that's left is Finnagin's Wake, which I believe is even more crazily written than Ulysses, and I graduate in three months, so there will be no more required reading <strike>ever!</strike> until graduate school.... (though that, at least, will not be for some time).

I have so much to do! Last week I was sick and all I really did was go through boxes and boxes of tissues and sleep, so now I am super behind in all of my classes. I have to read, like, another 200 pages in Ulysses before Thursday to get caught up, and I think that's probably not going to happen. Ulysses is hard, slow (insane) reading. I also have no idea what's going on in French, but that's mostly how I feel every class period, so I guess that isn't exactly special. Yeah, this semester is kinda starting out sucky, but it's my VERY LAST ONE!

Also, I cannot decide if I like my sociology class or not. The reading assignments in the book suck, the additional readings are full of grammatical & typographical errors that, as an English major and grammar-nut, really, really annoy me (like, please learn the difference between there, their and they, among other things)... but then again, my professor is a technophobe who admitted that he uses a twelve-year-old in his office to do all his computer work, so that explains that... I think he could at least proof-read it though. On the other hand, we only have one class period a week and the other is online, and we've been assigned to go see Juno instead of coming to class on Valentine's Day, which I wanted to see anyway, and I always like cancled classes. So... whatever... it's my VERY LAST SEMESTER, that's what I'm trying to concentrate on. >

It kinda puts me in the mood to make some of my own icons, but I just don't have the time until after finals. Maybe then. :)

I got a new angelfish yesterday for my 30 hex tank downstairs. He's doing very well, but I hadn't noticed when I got him that he was missing a gill cover on one side. Not a big deal, I don't think, just a genetic defect that means he has a good side and a bad side, and he seems otherwise healthy. Other than that he's pretty and strippy, and he likes to hang out in the bubbles. ^_^ He's going to get angelfish friends from my tank upstairs next week (so then I can take that tank down), though they're a bit bigger than him, so he might get picked on a little. They're pretty docile though, so it probably won't be too much of a problem. I do like my angels though. Once the pearl gouramies are matured, the tank is going to be full of the pretty. ^_^

I've also got 55 tulip bulbs to plant at home for next spring, and an aloe vera plant I got from Trader Joe's the last time I went home last month. Oh and some itty-bitty little air plants that I adore. They are so darn cute! ^_^

So far, I haven't killed any of my plants for quite some time, and these are all easy to take care of -- with the exception of the minature rose. (But it was so darn cute, I couldn't resist it.)
There is a reason most of my plants are suculants (lol, I typed succubuses first... that would be more than a little weird) or live in water.

Is it weird that I'm a vegetarian, but I find other vegetarians incredibly crazy and strange? Probably. It's just that I was reading this article about vegans and vegetarians having a tough time dating - even each other - because their values are so different, and didn't you know, not eating piggies and chickens, etc, but still drinking milk and eating (unfertilized) eggs is still MURDER! And, I have to think that, just maybe, these people can't find dates not because they're different but because they're crazy.
But then, I'm not a vegetarian because of values. I find the 'meat is murder' slogan absurd, and really, the only reason that I still don't eat meat is because, after 8 and 1/2 years it's become a habit and because of health reasons. Hormones and dyes are just icky and, for me, at least when it comes to red meat, pretty dangerous because of those pesky allergies to red dyes. I'd probably go back to eating organic meat, but you know, that's even more hasslesome than just not eating it at all, so I haven't bothered yet. Plus, do you know how expensive all natural meat can be? It's (also) crazy high.
But yeah, I mostly just hope that I never end up dating one of those crazy incompatible vegan/vegetarians. Because, seriously, that article was just too weird for me to read...

In other news, I am a bad speller. :(

I have a grand total of eight baby guppies. They're neat little guys and they seem to be doing okay today. Hopefully they'll stay that way. ^_^

And, amazingly, French isn't my most hated class this semester. I kinda wish my TA wasn't so out of it most of time, but oh well. No, the spot for most-hated class is now filled by my English class. And it's totally because of the professor (the same one that didn't even show up for the first day of class...). He's got an ego the size of the classroom and he wants us all to be sheep and say bah and agree with everything he says. And I don't like that. He seems to want us to believe that there can only be one meaning to gain from any piece of work, and that meaning is, of course, the one he came up with. Ugh. Whatever... it just makes me annoyed having to listen to him.

Holy crap, I have <strike>four</strike>, no, make that five little baby guppies. That was certainly a surprise, considering I just bought the females today... they either gave birth just now, or the babies got transfered in from the water at the petstore. Okay then. We'll just have to see how this goes, since I've never had baby fishies before.

Also... new House in ten minutes!! Yay. :D
